Kristin Buhler's Profile

About

With the ebbs and flows of life, hobbies came and went. With the changes to my life that marriage and children bring, I needed a creative outlet — something just for me. So in an attempt to fill a creative void a particular work situation left me in I spent more and more time making jewellery, starting with basic wire wrapping. I am now rarely without some sort of jewellery-related project on the go. Actually, I usually have about six or seven pieces mulling and brewing. My husband is self-employed and, on top of being a full time mama, I also help out with the clerical side of his business. Sometimes finding time at my bench is a challenge!

My jewellery studio is my peaceful haven, my little slice of paradise. The place where I go to recharge my batteries and empty my head of all the ideas flying around. I am a self-taught metalsmith and each piece I make teaches me something new. There is such a sense of accomplishment as I discover a better way to do something, or figure out a new technique. Every piece I create is infused with much love.
