A scientist by day, I find pottery and jewelry a relaxing, creative escape. There is nothing like feeling the clay move through your hands as you challenge centrifugal force, pull up a cylinder, and watch a mound of mud transformed into a beautiful ceramic vessel. I have been making wheel-thrown pottery for about 14 years. I primarily make functional ceramic pieces in the mid-fire range using a variety of commercial glazes and an electric kiln…

I primarily make functional ceramic pieces in the mid-fire range using a variety of commercial glazes and an electric kiln.

And because I also need something to do while watching TV, my second creative outlet is jewelry. I’ve been making jewelry for more than 25 years and love anything that can be jazzed up with the sparkle of crystals. My favorite techniques are bead stitching, chain-maille and wire-wrapping. Maximizing my investment in a kiln, I also make fused glass and silver jewelry out of Precious Metal Clay. PMC is an awesome product that starts as a malleable clay which can be formed into almost any shape you can imagine and becomes 99.9% silver when fired in the kiln.

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it. If there is something you like but would prefer a different size or color, just let me know and we’ll see what we can do.

Please note that all my ceramic pieces are microwave-, dishwasher-, and oven-safe.

All ceramic pieces that could conceivably be used for food are glazed with lead-free commercial glazes (unless stated otherwise).
