Lidia's Profile

About

My name is Lidia, my friends call me Elle.
I come from a family of very talented artists.

In the summertime when I was about 3 or 4 years old, my mother would take me to a nearby pond where we would paint pictures together. I remembered being mesmerized by the beautiful and delicate dragonflies and butterflies, they looked so magical.
I think of those wonderful times and the joy it brought me. I knew from this young age that I was destined to be an artist.

My studio is located in Lewis Center, Ohio, about 20 minutes from Columbus and it is here where my creative juices flow.
I am a native of Sydney, Australia, and it was here that I began my formal education in art. In my second year of college I moved to the United States and received my B.F.A. from B.G.S.U. in Ohio. I spent the next 10 years as art director in…

In my second year of college I moved to the United States and received my B.F.A. from B.G.S.U. in Ohio. I spent the next 10 years as art director in the field of television. Recognizing the stresses of the advertising world, I took the opportunity to find other forms of artistic expression. My love of glass was born and I allowed this creative energy to guide me. What evolved were works of art that integrated into our more common understanding of functional living.
I am inspired by color, light, and nature in its organic shapes, flowing lines, and healing sounds.
I incorporate Feng Shui, in my living and working space. Feng Shui literally translates as "wind-water" and is a Chinese philosophical system of harmonizing with the surrounding environment.

My larger body of work is represented by some of the finest art galleries in the nation.
I had the privilege to exhibit with the world renowned artist, Dale Chihuly and also completed a restoration of 18 stained glass windows at a chapel in Ohio.
I have been a regular writer of stained glass tutorials for the last 3 years for Glass Patterns Quarterly.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating for you
