About

I have 2 shops on Etsy. My other Shop is lkvintageattic.etsy.com

I had another shop lkvintagejewelry.etsy.com, however I have moved all the vintage jewelry in that shop to my lkvintageattic shop.

In 1983 I started cutting gemstones and setting them into mounting, which lead to silversmith work. Opal is my favor stone to cut. The challenges of cutting an Opal are not getting it too hot, or cutting to deep into the colorful fire layer.

In the early 90s I made jewelry out of friendly plastic and polymer clay. In the late 90s I was introduced to the potter’s wheel and hand building in clay. I prefer hand building in clay. Some of my favor things to sculptor are swans and the bird of paradise.

When I started making jewelry I started attending International Gem shows and purchasing supplies. I am now selling supplies in this shop.

At the present I have combined my love of clay and metal. My silver work is now done in PMC. PMC is pure silver combined with compounds to hold it together in a clay form. As PMC is fired in a kiln the compounds burn up; leaving .999 silver and can be finished in a variety of polishing techniques. This allows for more creativity in designs. Some of my creations are of PMC only, while other creations are a combination of sterling silver, gemstones and PMC. Malachite is one of my favor gemstones.

Besides creating jewelry I collect and study vintage jewelry. Sometime I take old jewelry parts and use them to make new pieces. For example, some the older crystal necklaces used smaller plastic beads between the crystal beads. I take the crystal and restring it using gemstones for a newer look. Turning old broken brooches into new rings and bracelets.

I am a member of CASTTEAM, Top Treasury Team, SUPPLY teams.

I live in the Denver area with my husband, our dogs and our cat.
