LaCometaLab's Profile

About

My name is Diana, I’m an art historian living in Paris since four years ago (although I've temporarily moved to Madrid for the coming 6 months). In Paris I work for a world-renown Photo Agency and manage photo exhibitions along South Europe. Although I truly love my day job, I have recently discovered another amazing way to unleash and boost my full creativity: making exquisite colourful brooches!!

Since I was a child I have always been in love with art and design (music and travelling are other of my great inspirations!). I can’t help but love fashion too and, for years now, other people's brooches have been adorning my clothes in the most creative ways possible… that is, up until the day I decided I could myself create those brooches I kept dreaming about, but never got to find in shops… That is what (La Cometa Lab.) is all about.

What started like a fascinating hobby, has now become through word of mouth something bigger, since I have started to get many a requests to buy my brooches from friends, friends of friends… and I will very soon start selling my pieces in one shop in Paris and two in Madrid. More news about that shortly.

I love putting all the care, the inspiration and love into each one of my handmade pieces and will send your order most carefully wrapped and packed in a beautiful yellow “(La Cometa Lab.)” self-inspired box (you may see pictures of it in the shop) for you to store my brooch in, or in case you decide to give away the brooch as present to friends.

I am proud to be part of the etsy community, and I’m an earnest believer in the do-it-yourself ethics!!

So, welcome to my etsy shop and I hope that you will find things that you like here. Feel free to contact me at lacometalab(at)gmail(dot)com, I’d love to receive your feedback and to see you around very soon!

Finally, let me explain where the name of my shop comes from... "La Cometa" means "Kite" in Spanish... so translated into English the name would read like (The Kite Lab.) -the parenthesis is just an aesthetic decoration I especially like!-. To me, the word Kite is a beautiful metaphor for creation, imagination, colours, playfulness... something which I very much relate when making my brooches!

If you speak Spanish, Italian or French do not hesitate to convo me in those languages:

Parlo italiano ;)
