About

I'm 25 years old, married to my high school sweetheart and I have an English degree. I am currently in the process of applying to a Masters degree program for Library and Information Science. In my spare time, I love to crochet, paint, decorate, and create things. I also write short stories and poems, and read constantly.

I draw most my inspiration from nature.. the color of a flower in the spring, or the calm of a river in the fall.. I grew up being outside a lot with my parents, and going on nature walks. Being in the woods or at the beach or next to a river is what makes me feel the most alive. I also draw inspiration from books, movies, music, poems, and real life..

Being in the woods or at the beach or next to a river is what makes me feel the most alive. I also draw inspiration from books, movies, music, poems, and real life..

I come from a long line of creative people.. my grandmother painted watercolor landscapes (she passed away before I was born) and we always had her paintings hanging up all over my house as a kid. My father painted, my mom has always crocheted for as long as I can remember, and my brother is into photography. I love to surround myself with the things my family has made to inspire me and to keep them close even when I am far away. To me there is something so meaningful in an object that someone you know and love has created from their own hands, out of their own soul and mind.

Now I use the spare bedroom in our townhouse as my studio and using my grandmother's old paintbrushes, attempt to create something beautiful too.. my painting is not quite there yet, but is hopefully coming along the more practice I get. And I have been crocheting since I can remember.. to me just the act of creating something is meaningful, peaceful and beautiful..
