Michele Kim's Profile

About

Michele Lepard Kim is a third-generation culinary artist who brings a European sensibility to create a new American confectionary tradition.

Descended from a Swiss restaurateur on one side and a Cordon Bleu graduate on the other, Michele was destined to be a chef. In 2000, she walked away from a successful career in advertising to pursue this passion and was among the very last chefs to graduate from Peter Kump's New York Cooking School (now the Institute for Culinary Education). She was subsequently hired by the pastry department of Eleven Madison Park where she helped to create classic, rustic French desserts.

Now specializing in unique caramels & toffees, Michele handcrafts her confections one hour north of New York City in Mahopac, New York, where she lives with her husband and 6-year-old son.
