A girl's night out took me to a basket making class at our local junior college. My first attempts were quite pathetic, so they wound up in the basement. Many years later, when I was wandering around the Bristol Renaissance Faire I came up with the idea of draw-string rag baskets. They are perfect for keeping your valuables secure while you wander the faire and compliment the Renaissance grab. So, I made myself one and got bit by the basket bug. Now I can't stop making baskets.
