About

I focus on a lifestyle. I cook, I decorate, I design, I sew, I illustrate, I make; these are the things I do. I grew up on an organic farm in Rhode Island, 50 acres of vegetables, bosc pears and concord grapes, making me a life-long lover of farm to table cooking. If I wanted a tomato I went and plucked it off the plant, rinsed off the dirt and cut it up. I made jam at the end of berry season. Fruits and Vegetables are my thing, I love them. When my friends where eating chips, I ate carrots and apples. Most of the products I create are vegan (some tea towel recipes are not vegan), but all promote a lifestyle full of using plants instead of chemicals, and eating lots fresh fruits and vegetables which is something almost everyone can get behind.

The company started with my soaps, which are inspired by my farm to table upbringing. Scents that you find in the kitchen. Since I cook the natural way (you won’t find anything pre-packaged in my kitchen). I recreate all the scents the natural way too, albeit it is a more time consuming method, but I have never been one to take the easy way.

For example the soap base is created in one large batch from shea butter, sunflower oil, olive oil and coconut oil, and allowed to partially cure; and then it is hand grated (Hand Milled) then I slowly re-melt and add all the essential oils and extracts to make particular smell (this is why all our soap is a bit stronger because it is added after the reaction that makes oil into soap). Many of our scents are created using an enfleurage method with Shea Butter, which means plants are added and removed from shea spread on a glass chassis, every day until the desired strength is created. Sure it’s easier to use a fragrance oil, but that’s just not us.

When you decide to purchase my products, you not only get a thoughtfully made body product or home good, but a piece of my lifelong passion.
