I love to paint, draw, sew and oh so many other fun & creative distractions. Mostly these days though I am playing with metal. I earned a Bachelors in Fine Arts in Metal at SUNY New Paltz a few years back. There I learned traditional and alternative jewelry and metal smithing techniques and I use these to create my work. All of my jewelry and metalwork is designed and hand crafted by me in a tiny studio in Ithaca, New York.
Some of my favorite techniques include hand piercing, this involves a jewelers saw and a tiny blade thinner then a sewing needle. I then saw out hand drawn designs and shapes from metal sheets. Hammering and forging help to add texture and create new shapes and forms in my jewelry as well. I also solder, rivet, form and stamp some of my pieces.
