Leeya Engel's Profile

About

My name is Leeya Engel (nee Preiss-Bloom) and I have been creating from the time I was able to hold a crayon. My etsy shop is a place for me to showcase completed jewelry projects and prevent the buildup of massive amounts of jewelry in my home. It is part hobby, part business.

You can read more about me on my blogs:

I moved to Israel from NYC at the idealistic age of 18 and spent the next eleven years studying Physics, meeting (and wooing) my Israeli husband (co-founder of the cyber security company LightCyber), pursuing a PhD in Materials Science and Nanotechnologies and organizing craft events and student conferences. While living with my husband in the gorgeous Ramat Aviv neighborhood adjacent to Tel Aviv University, I finally felt that I had struck a balance between the math/science part of my brain with it's crafty/visual counterpart.

This past summer we relocated to The Bay Area and I am super excited to be starting a post doctorate in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford! I am also excite to have a garage to house my ever growing collection of craft supplies and vintage jewelry.

Please take your time browsing through my shop, You will find that because my shop functions as a creative outlet, no two projects are alike! Let me know if I can help you with a custom order. I find the added interaction with the customer a fulfilling aspect of the craft business. You can be sure that all items that leave my shop (aka living room) arrive perfectly packaged and are created with attention to quality, composition and detail.
