Insanity is now a way of life in my house!

I began doing crafts over 35 years ago with my oldest daughter on my lap...her and her brother are all grown up now but I still find myself doing my crafts with little ones at my feet! My husband and I have brought 6 more kids into our lives and my crafts...painting and sewing and anything else that suits my fancy...is my therapy and what keeps me sane!

I do what my sister-in-law called "hapa" crafts ages ago...a mingling of Americana and Hawaiian style crafts. My Hula Babies started when our 9 year old Abi was going through cancer treatment almost from birth and I decided to make a little baby for her that she could take with her to treatments and when she had hospital stays and doctor appointments. The cancer has been gone for 7 years now but the Hula Babies are all over the place! They have evolved over the years to include blondes and redheads and babies with brown hair too - to represent each new friend she has made! I keep saying since we adopted her two biological brothers a few years ago too that someday we would add "little brothers" to the line but that is slow in coming...soon...

So each morning, my first born comes over to sit and have a cup of coffee and we go over our latest craft projects...before she runs off to her busy day and my insanity hits full force. Kids and crafts and a very understanding hubby...
