About

When I was a kid, my mom had a costume jewelry drawer that was filled with all types of fascinating and exotic jewelry. My mother loved beautiful clothes and beautiful jewelry. Because she worked really hard, she always felt that she deserved to reward herself with things she loved!. She used to tell me not to forget this because it was very important.

I can remember cascading crystal necklaces, exotic rhinestone pins, Carmen Miranda fruit earrings, shoe clips and lots and lots more. Oh, I just loved that drawer. I could spend hours looking at her things. I tried them on over and over again... loving them more and more each time. I would imagine all the combinations of colors and designs. They would dance around in my head.

I still have some of her pieces, which I treasure, to this day…

It recently occurred to me that perhaps my love of jewelry and design can be traced back to my mother's jewelry drawer.

As I grew older, I learned many things. One of these was astrology, which I really enjoyed. I began to think about creating designs connected to the Zodiac. Pieces that would reflect the major aspects of each sign. Soon, low and behold, I began creating jewelry based on my own Zodiac sign,..... can you guess??? OF COURSE - Libra.
I always try to incorporate the Libra sense of balance and harmony into each of my pieces. So this, my friends, is how I have evolved into this endeavor - which I call - Libra Designs NYC.

I hope you enjoy discovering my work as much as I enjoyed discovering my mother's jewelry drawer!!!

Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to read this...

Have a lovely day!
