Hello! My name is Liz and I am a woodcut artist and a librarian.
My work is inspired by science, nature and the city I live in. My woodcuts are cut by hand on birch veneer plywood blocks and printed with a wooden spoon using oil based inks and thin, Japanese paper. I don't need any special presses or studio space, it's very DIY! My screen prints are taken directly from my woodcut imagery and are also hand printed on my dining room table.
I call myself the "librarian artist" because I work both in the library field and as an artist. I am an Assistant Lab Technician at a paper conservation lab where I perform preliminary treatment and repairs on works of art on paper and paper archives.
