Linda Kay Designs offers sewing patterns and crafting books with related supplies as I find them. I am a lover of patterns and am always on the lookout for them. To me, they hold the possibilities of our own design creations.

I include back views of the pattern envelope to give you information on fabric selection and other particulars. Please let me know if you need the line drawings included in the instructions to help you see the pattern better. I am always happy to provide that when requested.

Most of my patterns are uncut but I will occasionally include (and note that it is) a cut pattern. Be assured that I have checked and accounted for each piece.

I like the fresh smell of newsprint when I open a pattern but alas, since I discover my patterns in a multitude of places, I cannot guarantee which environment they have resided. If there is an unusually strong odor, I will note it in my listing.

I am an experienced sewer. Please feel free to email if you have a question about a specific pattern. I am happy to look at the instructions and provide you with any details you made need to make your pattern selection.

----- Why patterns and sewing?

My grandmother sewed….. my mother sewed….. I have sewn for as long as I can remember.

My dear grandmother sewed out of necessity! She was the proverbial woman of the depression and sewed dresses for my aunt and mother out of feed sacks. She drafted her own patterns from newspaper. She once angered a neighbor when asked to borrow a pattern to make a shirt. My grandmother promptly sent over her newspaper cut pattern much to the neighbor’s dismay! The neighbor thought she couldn’t be trusted with the original store bought pattern!

Mom sewed out of necessity, too! We were a military family and in the early days, not a regulation issued item. There was little money to care for a family. Mom remade wonderful wool skirts for us out of finds from Sally’s (the local Salvation Army).

I have always found my crafts a comfort to me. I sew, knit, crochet, embroider, cross stitch, bead, quilt, and scrapbook. I’ve made outfits for my baby dolls, my babies, and other people’s grand babies (no pressure here, kids!). I made my wedding dress and hope that my daughter doesn’t want to wear it! When I haven’t had the time to indulge, I have bought.

Thank you for allowing me to share a little of myself. I hope you embrace all things handmade as much as I do!
