About

Hi, thanks for dropping by!

I enjoy exploring the ever-changing moods of nature, geometry and their relationships. Moods and colours captivate me.

I likes to observe things for a long time, appreciating the subtle nuances. These nuances translate into elements in my paintings. I believe there is no one way to interpret art. It inevitably involves your thoughts, drawing from your life experiences, and meshing it up with what I present. I hope you find peace and treasures of the heart through my works.

^^ More About Me ^^
I enjoy observing things like falling leaves in the morning breeze, wild mushrooms on the sidewalk, shimmery stars in the heavens, warm tea on the table, toddlers holding onto their mummies’ hands and the list goes on. Hence, a lot of these are translated into my works.

My Dad studied Fine Arts in the 70s which was an unconventional path back then. Later, his aesthetics and craftsmanship spurred his interest in hand making scaled model planes. He is now running a model planes and helicopters business. Although he has stopped painting, he is still a keen appreciator of beauty and flowers! Yes! He's got green fingers like my mother. He would often send me pictures of flowers he saw overseas, knowing I would be intrigued. My mum, on the other hand, never fails to inspire me of hard work, perseverance and deep inner strength. She is no complainer in spite of the punches life has for her. For that, I felt grateful for them.

I picked up painting at 5 and stopped in my teenage years due to studies and a scoliosis surgery. Later, I knew I came back to this path where my heart lies. I quitted the conventional route and went to the Arts to many people's surprise. I felt I had to follow my path even when facing opposition and doubts. I am also currently helping out in my dad's business as a web administrator.

There are a few artists who inspires me. There is a Singaporean playwright and director who touches me deeply. He is the deceased Mr. Kuo Pao Kun. His play "The Spirits Play" is one of my favourites. Filmmaker who also touches me is India's Satyajit Ray, espcially his film "Pather Panchali". Another great inspiration is Jim Henson, creator of "The Muppets"!

Illustrators who inspire me are Chihiro Iwasaki.

I also like Don McLean's Vincent (Starry Starry Night) and the artist Vincent Van Gogh; though sometimes I am saddened, for if only more people understood mental illness, life would perhaps be different for him... Mental illness is a part of our society. I wish more people understand about it. My uncle has scizhoprenia and I came across friends with this illness too. I hope my art could also represent the peace that most people on this little planet yearn for.
