I think my aesthetic has been influenced by the Victorian era and the 1920's to the 1940's with the emphasis of the time on laces, beads, sequins, furs, satins,veils, tulle, ribbons,feathers and brooches. The Victorian era was so romantic with the heavy use of flowers and the meanings associated with each flower, ribbons, satins and velvets. The 1920's offered beaded dresses and headbands with feathers. The 1930's had the satin wedding dresses cut on the bias and huge bridal bouquets. The 1940's had the fitted suits with shoulder pads, hats with veils and feathers and the heavy use of brooches.
I try to incorporate the things that I love into my designs. I want them to be lush and full with vibrant colors.
