I love to take seemingly delicate motifs such as roses, vines or smoke, and give them substance. I find inspiration everywhere from ancient weaponry to Glam Rock to the Art Nouveau movement. Where others may see imperfection I see mystery.

I first studied jewelry design, formally, in high school and from there went on to Parsons School of Design and F.I.T. I discovered that when you need teachers the most they magically appear. I've been extremely blessed to have so many extraordinary teachers both formally and informally.

I've been asked many times why I named my line "Lura", when my name is Megan. I named my jewelry after my grandmother, Lura Mozelle. She was one of the chicest, and wisest women I have ever had the privilege of knowing. She was proof that style has little to do with our backrounds, or whatever material…
