About

Hello everyone! I'm Luz, the Jewelry Designer behind Estilo Margot.

I began drawing & painting at an early age; was then given my first sewing machine around age 10 & started designing my own clothes. I thoroughly enjoyed pottery classes, cake decorating & playing saxophone during my teen years. Later acquired a degree in Graphic Arts, studied Home Staging & now creativity has taken me to world of Jewelry Design.

I ventured into creating necklaces around 2008 & became more involved once I realized the endless possibilities of design with fabrics, beads, chains & clasps.

Estilo is Spanish for 'style' & the name Margot comes from my grandmother; a Latin beauty with flawless, honey-gold skin tone. I have a pic where she is wearing a simple dress, Mary Janes, styling a retro 40's Updo & carrying a very nice textured, satchel purse. Though wear & accessory were simple, the photo depicts she carried herself with such a bold & confident character. I wanted to translate that into my work & feel I have. Simple enough to wear as casual or formal, yet, always depicting a certain boldness & confidence.

That is how Culture has influenced my creativity. I especially enjoy the richness of cultures; their History, their People. However, I admire all things earthly/natural (air, land, sea) & draw inspiration from each.

And let me not forget you. I like to observe. The fashionable clothes you wear, the shoes you rock, that yummy appetizer you ordered (or cooked yourself!), even the way you style your home. It really does help when creating.

With so much color, texture, shapes & sizes surrounding us & to feast our eyes upon, it is impossible to run out of ideas. Hopefully, there will be a piece that you will not only come to love but that will also inspire you to create or continue being creative.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I'm glad to be part of such a large community of talent. Contact me as often as you wish. I'd love to hear from you!

Estilo Margot. Inspired by Culture, Nature and You.
