About

I stumbled upon the Etsy site in 2011, and LOVE it (as a Buyer)! I am also creative, so I truly appreciate others' work and talents. I am NOT a Seller, (on Etsy or anywhere else), at this time. However, I do have a few of my own brush and ink creations posted in my blog; though, I don't really have the self-confidence, etc., to actually sell any of them at this time. Still working on it!

I'm brand new to sewing and just purchased my first sewing machine - a JANOME! :0D Yay!!!

I'm on the lookout for EASY to make, inexpensive patterns to get me started ...currently things like palazzo pants, simple maxi/sun dresses, caftans, etc. Once I manage to successfully create those and increase my skills and confidence, I will move on to more detailed/advanced patterns. Currently, simple is key so I won't feel intimidated or discouraged straight away…

As a Home Economics-Needlework "D" student almost 35 years ago (Lol!) ...I may be asked, (by anyone who knows me). what suddenly gave me enthusiasm for sewing? Well ... I recently finished hand-sewing a shoulder bag (lined) for myself from a lovely egyptian-print bandana/scarf I bought several months ago. It turned out so well, in spite of my terrible hand-sewing skills (Lol!), I've made a few other small simple things by hand with some of the leftover material scraps - all of which I made up as I went along without a pattern. I am hoping to take sewing classes at my local fabric store in the not too far distant future ...Meanwhile, I shall be a "regular nuisance" at the fabric store looking for bits & pieces and ideas ...as well as cruising Etsy! (Lol!) Am on a shoestring budget, so am always on the lookout for bargains, how-to's and ideas, etc.

Below is one of my blog sites with photos of a few of my creations:
