MIY Collection (Make-It-Yourself Collection) is for the modern sewer, frustrated at the choice of frumpy, twee and downright confusing sewing patterns they’re forced to choose from.
MIY Collection is a range of stylish easy sewing patterns, which includes styles that can be attempted by sewers of little or lots of experience.
An evolving collection of styles to suit all shapes and sizes and inspire with photos and ideas for how you can customise each pattern to really make it suit your own style.
MIY Collection is a fresh approach to fashion, it’s a fashion label that you can make your own.
MIY Collection is created by me - Wendy Ward.
After working as a designer in the fashion industry for 7 years I had always dreamed of having my own clothing collection; this is MIY Collection. As well as buy a MIY Collection pattern and make your own garments you can also buy MIY Collection designs as ready-to-wear garments.
I have been teaching dressmaking, pattern cutting and textiles at various centres throughout Brighton since 2007. I have a degree in Fashion Design, an MA in Design and am a fully qualified, registered and CRB cleared teacher.
I am a regular contributor to Sewing World magazine and my first book about fashion design for kids is due for publication in 2014.
In April 2011 I was granted membership of the Society of Designer Craftsmen.
