Please enjoy shopping here for unique handmade Handbags & Pouches 100% Handmade just by me and made in the beautiful Sierra Foothills!

My fascination & love for textiles came at a young age when my mother would get boxes of fabrics in all different textures and colors sent to her from my Uncle & Aunts Textile mill they owned in New Jersey for many years. Many years later I still love working with a mix of fabrics to create beautiful one of a kind Purses & Pouches. I love to use a mix of vintage and new in my designs....a lot of the textiles you will see date from the 1920's 40's and 50's. Mixing the two work well & I love the idea that I am recycling an old piece of fabric & giving that piece a new life and making it into something beautiful and useable!

Other Stuff

About the Denim I use in my Purses and Pouches: I look hard for the best looking denim to use in my designs...I use both new & recycled denim...from Jeans, Skirts, Shorts, Jackets, Bib Overalls. I look for condition, the shade of the denim, how much fading and distressing the fabric has, stitching on seams and pockets. I wash and dry all my denim first before I use it for any item I am making.

Working with Antique & Vintage Textiles: When using these older fabrics I first wash and dry and inspect for any flaws...If I see a flaw that is super bad I will not use that fabric. Please note that with some of these older fabrics they do not always come to me in mint condition, some may have tiny little age spots on them that do not come out in the wash..these little age marks do not at all take anything away from the beauty of the item, but only add a bit of character I think!

Construction of my pouches & handbags: All are double stitched for added strength, and tripled stitched at all stress points. I use a soft thick lofty quilt batting in between the layers to give it more body and over all strength. You will find in most of my drawsting styles I make a three compartment pocket inside, the middle one just for your cell phone & one on each side of the cell pocket!
On most of my purses I have a handy deep double pocket on the outside, this works great for a baby or water bottle, a small book, or other items!
