About

I first learned to crochet when I was about 19 years old. My aunt taught me one summer in between semesters in college. I learned the basics and gradually expanded my understanding of techniques and skills on my own when I had a spare moment.
After I graduating from college, I decided that I might be able to make some money from my crochet through Etsy. I started my account to help make ends meet while I looked for a teaching position. I was soon hired in the fall, and so my crochet talents became a tool for creating Christmas presents and other gifts. I absolutely loved to find a special pattern that I knew an individual would enjoy! They would be shocked that I spent so much time on something and even more amazed at how lovely and functional it was! I loved to see their reactions and enthusiasm!

This enthusiasm for crochet and handmade items was even in airports, schools and my church. Many people, both strangers and friends, asked me about my work and how I made my bags, in particular. Friends who had received gifts from me also said that strangers would approach them and ask about their crocheted cell phone holder.
I realized that I was not only creating a crochet item, I was helping to create excitement and admiration for crafty homemade objects! How amazing it was that so many people valued the handmade spirit!
From the encouragement of friends and family, I decided to give Etsy another try. I have revamped many aspects of my store and am looking forward to going to local craft shows this summer. I have also joined the Crochet Guild of America and the Craft Yarn Council, in addition to teaching crochet classes at Michaels Craft Stores. I hope to expand my creative energies and have all kinds of interesting products available. I am very excited to start up this new venture (again) and I hope my pieces can excite others as well!
