I have always loved creating things…ever since I was a child; I’ve had to be making something. I have tried my hand at many different mediums – beading, knitting, painting, rug-hooking, quilling, woodworking, pottery and glasswork – something always leading me back to making jewelry. It might be that I love shiny, sparkly things. :)

About

I have always loved creating things…ever since I was a child; I’ve had to be making something. I have tried my hand at many different mediums – beading, knitting, painting, rug-hooking, quilling, woodworking, pottery and glasswork – something always leading me back to making jewelry. It might be that I love shiny, sparkly things. :)

I have taken silversmith classes at Mohawk College and learned the fundamentals of silver smithing and jewelry making. I love putting flame to the metal and watching it become what I had envisioned.

In 2009 I discovered Precious Metal Clay (PMC) and it opened up another world for me! I can now create the intricate details that I love. PMC has endless possibilities. I particularly enjoy discovering all that this groundbreaking material has to offer and refining techniques to incorporate texture and other materials such as natural and man-made stones into my designs, creating beautiful personal works of art to wear.
Each piece is a handcrafted original, made to be worn, enjoyed and last for generations! Each piece is handmade, and no two are exactly alike.

My jewelry pieces are hand made, crafted of fine silver which is 99.9% pure silver. Fine silver is slower to tarnish than sterling silver, which is made of only 92.5% silver. This fine silver is made from Precious Metal Clay.

All clasps, earring wires and findings in my jewelry are made of .999 Fine Silver or .925 Sterling. Stones are either natural stone or gem-quality cubic zirconia. Each piece is a handcrafted original, made to be worn, enjoyed and last for generations! Custom orders are welcome!

Precious Metal Clay, PMC, is an exciting material developed and patented in the 1990s by Mitsubishi Materials of Japan, and introduced to the US in 1995. Microscopic particles of silver are mixed with a moist organic binder to create a material that has the feel and working properties of modeling clay. This "clay" medium can be molded, shaped, carved and textured, allowing the artist endless creative possibilities. After the desired design is achieved, the pieces are heated in a kiln to 1625 degrees for 2 hours, the temperature approaching the melting point of the metal, where the particles fuse together to make a dense, fully metallic object that is pure silver (.999 Fine Silver) or 24K Gold. Fired PMC work can be polished, soldered, enameled, and enjoyed like any other silver item.
