About

The art genre that has stolen my heart and that you'll see here is expressionistic, non-representational painting and drawing....many times called Abstract Expressionism. I combine various art media to create highly textural, layered works. I really enjoy the resistance that a firm art surface provides for my painting technique. Many of my paintings are on a thin, lightweight wood. This allows me to manipulate the paint in fun and fabulous ways that traditional canvas and paper don't always allow. I also frequently use firm canvas panels and artboard. I approach each work without an idea and with an open mind.....whatever happens, happens. I work on each piece until I feel a sense of satisfaction with the visual story it tells. A work could take me 3 minutes, 3 hours, 3 days, or 3 months. It tells me when it's "done." Each piece is named after it's completed. I feel hesitant to name my pieces quite often because they truly don’t represent "things" they represent feelings and energy…most often unconscious feelings and energy.

I hope you enjoy experiencing my work as much as I enjoy creating it! I'm truly honored that you visited my gallery here on Etsy.
