I love all kinds of fiber, beads, and embellishment and have been working with a needle since I was 5 years old. It's in my genes--my great-grandfather was a weaver; my great-grandmother was an inspector in a textile mill, my grandmother was a professional seamstress; and I grew up making things and sewing with my wonderful, creative Mom and my Aunt Winnie. With her artist's eye and love of nature, my Mom made my childhood world a magical place, and I carry that with me. My Dad was a fine craftsman, who could design, build, and repair almost anything.
These days I'm most likely to be wielding a felting needle, a crochet hook, or my wire-wrapping tools. I make my own needle-felted beads from wool roving, and I love to create necklaces and bracelets using the centuries-old traditions of hand-knotting on silk thread or making chains of wire-wrapped beads.
