I come from a theatre background, I received my B.F.A in costume design- and ever since I've made my first mask I've been hooked by the magic that they posses. There are masks in every culture and every corner of the globe, masks have a universal appeal and magic. I suppose its the magic of transformation, and the magic of truth. There is the saying of give a man a mask and meet who he really is. And I've seen it happen not only on the stage but in real life- and even if that magic may not be seen to you- who doesn't love just a touch of mystery?
I draw inspiration from folklore, history, literature,nature, and fantasy worlds. I think you can find inspiration in the smallest things- which keeps life interesting, but makes cleaning my apartment a slower process than it probably should be.
