Fusing glass is a fun process and opening up the kiln is always just like Christmas. I fire my kiln in the afternoon so that I won't be tempted to peak after the firing is done. So when I wake up, I rush out to my studio to check out the results of my latest firing.
I try to offer an assortment of styles and types of fused dichroic glass. I make one color pieces which enable you to match an outfit or look. I also make multilayer compositions which have lots of colors that create a fashion statement on their own. I also cut precise little pieces of glass which I assemble into detailed unique pieces of art. These small cuts of glass take years to master and only through cutting glass for all these years is that possible.

I make many of the components of my jewelry including some of the bails, ear wires and clasps. I like my earring wires to be a certain shape and length and making them myself is part of the fun.

We have moved to the Mendocino coast and live a very sustainable life. My husband built our super insulated home, put together a water collection system and put in a small but very useful set of solar panels. This is the life that we both wanted. Growing our vegetables and playing with my dog in the yard are other very satisfying aspects to living in this lovely rural environment.

I try to make my jewelry both wearable and convenient. If I offer earrings with niobium ear wires and you would prefer sterling silver ear wires, just write me a note.

All sterling silver that I use is Argentium and it is recycled and eco-friendly.
Argentium is actually 930 pure and has only a minute amount of copper and therefore is hypo allergenic. Most sterling silver is .925 and copper is frequently used for the other 7%. Copper can cause some allergic response and it tarnished easily.
I NEVER use plated silver for ear wires or earrings or pendants.
