Debra-Anne Barnes' Profile

About

a curios: a thing unusual perhaps worthy of collecting.

Debra-Anne Barnes spends a good deal of time either daydreaming elaborate circus acts or devising a plan to run away to spend the rest of her days surfing, which has obviously profoundly influenced her work. This reluctantly landlocked self taught Canadian folk artist, after a Hurculean battle with "drawers block", started making sewn objects as a means to ventilate her creative spirit.

Keep your eyes open, you never know what to expect from her anomalous mind. Once and awhile her hand does manage to hit paper.

No Big D...just a little d.
