About

Hi: Welcome to my shop! I list OOAK items that I create using silver wire and chain, Czech beads, fabric, buttons, pearls and small gemstones, ribbon, and vintage jewelry pieces. I just love the feminine look!
I am 53 years old, married to the same sweet guy for over 32 years. I have two adult children and three grandchildren. I am a veteran of the US Army. I am also a retired federal employee where I was working for Department of the Army. After retiring on a disability, I needed something to do so my brain wouldn't atrophy. I am a determined woman. In my senior year of college I was required to do an internship. (In 1989 I was 30 years old. Quick, do the math!) Before I went to the first session of the class, I had located the place I wanted to serve my internship. I was hoping to save time and I wanted to choose the location. I had a work/study position at the Fayetteville, NC VA Medical Center and a friend introduced me to a woman he knew who was in charge of the Drug/Alcohol Rehab ward. After a short interview, Sandy agreed to supervise my internship. After I met the professor, I took her to meet Sandy. The professor commented that most students took the internships she recommended for them. There was an embarrassed silence for about 10 seconds, then Sandy said, "Well, I guess Melanie knows what she wants and goes for it." I could have cheered. PS: My grade for the internship was an "A."
