Michele Harris' Profile

About

I am a painter with 30 years of painting experience and a degree in painting from Carnegie Mellon University.
My favorite subject to paint is the elephant and I have won many awards with them. I breed Siamese cats and use them as models as I need them. Farm animals are another favorite because of their colors and textures. One of my loves is gardening and I bring in flowers from my periennial beds to paint in the spring and summer.
I regularly exhibit and enter my work in juried shows and have had much success locally, regionally, and nationally. You will find that I enjoy exaggerating color and texture. Movement and pattern are also an interest in my work.
I like to include as much personality in my creatures and hope to cause my viewer to stop and consider the subject. My work is an escape and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do creating it.
