Middle Earthenware Pottery was started in the late 1980s by a group of friends who met working as potters at a living history museum. For the past 20 years we have been a permanent fixture at the Sterling Renaissance Festival in upstate New York, making medieval replica and original stoneware pottery. Our studio is a converted portion of a Civil War era barn. The electricity for our studio's wheels, kilns, radio, and tea kettle is supplied by a 140 foot wind tower, just at the end of the garden. It provides us with clean, renewable energy, and something fun to watch on windy days.Everything we make is 100% usable, lead-free and nontoxic. We use high quality clay and we make our own unique glazes. All Middle Earthenware pottery is oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe. Please see our 'shop policies' section for store information and our FAQs.
