About

Hi! My name is Jane, and I'm a lover of all things old, creepy, strange, haunted, and abandoned. I have an obsession with houses. Old houses particularly, but any empty house. There’s something interesting, creepy, and beautiful about an empty house. When you step into one, you’re not just stepping in from outside, you’re stepping into a whole different world. When I see abandoned houses, particularly old ones, I can’t help but wonder about the people who built it. What their lives were like. Their hopes. Their dreams. If the house could talk, what kind of stories would it tell me?

A couple of years ago there was a house in the next town over from me. It was a massive, gorgeous, red brick, Victorian hulk with several dormer windows in different shapes and sizes. A couple of years ago there was a house in the next town over from me. It was a massive, gorgeous, red brick, Victorian hulk with several dormer windows in different shapes and sizes. It was love at first sight. No one lived there, and hadn’t for quite awhile by the look of it. Although, I used to see this little old man sitting on a folding chair and leaning against the side of the garage with a dog at his feet. I’m pretty sure he didn’t live there, but that just added to the mystery of this magic place. I remember there was a tree growing right up out of the stairs leading up to the front porch. You couldn’t even see the front door, except in the winter when the leaves fell off the tree. I don’t know how many times I almost made an unintentional lane change because my face was glued to the window. Sadly, I drove past it one day, fully expecting to oooh and aaah like always….only it wasn’t there. All that was left was the garage and a hole in the ground. All I can say is it’s a good thing my husband was driving.

Each haunted, abandoned art house is drawn, cut, assembled, and painted by hand. Layers of texture, glue, and paint are applied with my unique techniques and allowed to air dry. This gives beautiful, dimensional effects. If you have any questions or a request for a custom house (maybe based on a photo you have?) please let me know!

Thank you!
