When I took my first millinery class at FIT in NYC almost 15 years ago, I knew that hats were my passion. Sometimes I even dream about hats. Why do I love making hats? I get to create a piece of wearable art that is completely unique and one of a kind. It accentuates a woman’s natural beauty and depending on the hat, it adds a hint of drama or tells a story or even brings us to another time and place.
I am dedicated to creating fine, top quality hats and headpieces that are made by hand with the use of traditional millinery techniques. I block or drape felt and straw on wooden hat blocks by using steam and roping them into place to attain the desired shape. This method has been used for centuries to produce the finest hats.
