I design and craft one-of and limited edition pieces in fine silver and sterling. I take my inspiration from my experience as a painter and mixed-media collage artist, from ancient and vintage designs, and from my travels, both inside and outside the United Sates. I have studied with master jewelry artisans such as Celie Fago and Susan Lenart Kazmer and am a certified instructor in precious metal clay (PMC), which, when fired, becomes solid fine silver.

My finished pieces may include semi-precious gems, found objects, sterling silver, and gold. I often combine pendants with vintage or antique sterling chains. I may use "cold connections," such as tiny rivets and screws, to attach pieces of a pendant or earrings.

Through a patina process that oxidizes the fine silver, I can achieve an antiqued look. After putting a piece through this process, I polish the high areas of the design to give the piece depth and dimension.

My work has been featured in shows, galleries, and boutiques. I also create custom ordered pieces.

You can see more of my jewelry, which now includes a "green" line of jewelry made from recycled sterling pieces, at www.jewelrybymirinda.com.

As talisman, keepsake, and ornament, jewelry has been designed and created by artisans for centuries and has reflected the art and cultural traditions of people the world over. I'm pleased to be part of that long tradition and grateful to those who've come before me for their knowledge and inspiration.
