About

A little about Millie: Millie was my great-grandmother. She had a player piano, was a wicked card player, and loved to dance. When her grandchildren would come to visit (with great-grandchildren in tow), after everyone else went to bed, Millie would head out dancing. She lived to 100, and now she straps on her dancing shoes and dances across the stars.

A little about me: I'm a mother to a beautiful (in every sense of the word) toddler, I'm in the U.S. Air Force, and I loved making each item you see in this shop. I enjoy my military career, but let's face it, there's a lot of ugly out there in the world, and my chosen profession often brings that ugliness into sharp focus. Puttering away at my workbench, happily immersed in color and pattern and texture, is how I bring myself back to the beautiful side of life.

Some of my artwork is original, some start as old family pictures or other vintage photographs, and others come from my favorite artists. I love the idea of being able to wear an old masterpiece in a fresh, modern way, or a photo of Millie, forever young and wrapped up in the arms of her one true love. I also enjoy working with beads, and hope to break out the supplies and start making beaded jewelry again when I can find just a little more time (see aforementioned toddler).

As I got more involved in the graphic design portion of jewelry-making, I decided to open up a second shop for digital collages, business cards and other graphic designs. You can visit Pailey's Place at: www.etsy.com/shop/PaileysPlace. I'm also incapable of turning down a good deal on craft & jewelry supplies, so started Fab Findings (
http://www.etsy.com/shop/FabFindings1) to share the love.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by; I hope you enjoy my shop!
