About

Hi, my name is Miss Elaine, thus the name of my store and jewelry line, MissElaineous Jewelry. I have had this nickname since high-school. I’ve been beading for as long as I can remember. As a child I took broken jewelry and restrung it into interesting new designs. (Okay sometimes it wasn't already broken.) As an adult I have begun to see jewelry in many different things. I like to take old items and give them new life.
While living in Italy, I began bead weaving. I took a class in even count peyote and never looked back. I have taught myself a dozen different weaving styles, from RAW to Ogallala Butterfly.

I have tried to take these weaves and turn them into something new. I have experimented with different materials and ways of implementing the weaves.
Sometimes it's been difficult to locate the products I want, so I’ve started making my own silver and copper findings. This means I’ve had to learn some wire working skills as well. We’ll see if this pays off. I am continuously trying to learn and do new and innovative things. I am a very impatient person, so I try to keep it fresh so I don’t get bored. So I experiment.
Recently I discovered spool knitting. I have started making jewelry with my knitter. Depending on the number and placement of the beads, the piece can be light and airy or thick and substantial. I’ve also begun to crochet, well I’m self taught so “fauxchet” might be a better term. I have made several beautiful pieces in silver and copper. I like to use gem stones and pearls, but I’ve been known to throw in a crystal or two once in a while.
I hope you’ll love my jewelry as much as I love making it.
