When I was a child, I would see my grandmother wear big, bold -- and what I thought at the time were obnoxious -- pieces of jewelry (sometimes multiple pieces at once!) She would proudly wear her "fandangles," regardless of what we thought.
35+ years later, how my feelings have changed. I love my own fandangles and am lucky to have some of my grandmother's vintage pieces, which I now wear proudly as well. It's obviously in the genes -- my great-grandfather (her dad) was a jeweler and goldsmith as well!!
Webster's defines a fandangle as "an elaborate but useless ornament." I beg to differ. In designing these fandangles, I've combined my love of color and texture to create handcrafted adornments that are elaborate, yes; but useless, never.
I hope that you'll enjoy them too…
