My first intentional creative impulse came when I was about five: I chopped two large patches out of my Granny’s curtain. No one (except for the inspired artist me) saw the flight of my artistic strive – only huge holes in the drapery. Nevertheless, that was a beginning :)
Since then I grew to using all new materials for my crafts intended for sales and presents, and gained true appreciation of my ideas and skills.
When I’ve got a son I faced the laws of the mass-market: girls wear pink and glittery; boys are entitled to dull colors, and plaid shorts are the only flamboyant excuse. If you want a different style – be ready to waste days in search of something special and not like others. I followed one more route – started making things for my boy by myself.
