About

I create each of my pieces from the ground up. I don't harvest parts from older existing jewelry but rather I use vintage components. (although I do love the work that people do by recycling vintage jewelry pieces and parts!) I use rhinestones and brass findings from the 1940's through the 1960's. All of these stones came from their original packages, unused and untouched for up to 70 years.

There is always a strange moment before I untie the strings of a box of vintage rhinestones from decades ago. Sometimes there are handwritten notes on the side with dates.. for example one paper package said in feminine script, "New color for the year, 1952"

As I break the seal and open the package, I realize that every one of these neatly arranged little stones nestled in layers of soft tissue were all carefully hand-placed there by someone and then sealed into darkness until that very moment, 60 years later, when I looked at them again.

I know it may sound strange but giving these bits of sparkle new life after such a long slumber brings me a great deal of joy and fulfillment. Even though I do sell my work, I always keep plenty of photos as every creation is hard to part with.

I hope you enjoy what you see here and get a kick out of the color, sparkle, and vintage flavor that my jewelry has to offer!

My other store here on etsy is Moonspheres. That's where I sell my loose rhinestones and sparkly components!
