Having always been fascinated with the colors of glass, whether in stained glass windows or watching a glass artist sculpt a doodad with a torch during summers at the shore, I jumped at a chance to take stained glass lessons about 30 years ago. I quickly realized that this was something that I could do well, and suddenly I had a new job! I have since been a full time stained glass craftsman, exhibiting at juried art shows on the East coast.
Flash forward to five years ago when I started to receive unsolicited catalogs from companies selling mysterious things such as bench burners and glass rods. For several years, I just threw them away. I really don't remember when I had that eureka moment and began to pay attention, ordered a lampworking kit and taught myself how to make lampworked beads. Boy, was it fun! I couldn't believe that I let so much time go by because there is so much to learn…
