Carol Ann Johnston's Profile

About

I've sewn since I was in middle school, but didn't start my first quilt until the 1970's. It took me 10 years to finish that one, and I still have it. In 2002, I picked up the habit of quilting again and now I try to sew every day. I find it therapeutic and refreshing, and it's nice to have something beautiful at the end of the process! My quilts are made in a tobacco free but pet friendly home. I do all my own quilting, either on my domestic sewing machine, or on a long arm machine I rent at a local studio.

All my pieces are machine pieced and quilted. On most of my pieces, the only hand work is the finish stage of French double fold bias binding or attaching a hanging sleeve.
