About

I was born on an Iowa farm so have a fond love of animals. Currently my husband and I live on several acres in the California foothills. There we have found ourselves owned by 9 cats, all rescued. They are the creative inspiration for my cat tiles.
I am a former college English teacher but since I no longer work I have turned to my artistic nature. I dabbled in watercolor painting for a while, learning composition and color. Then, my husband taught me how to tile and after that, creating mosaic pieces was my entire focus. I also teach mosaic classes and have had a few tile making classes. My husband was a victim of the economic times, so I encouraged him to make me some tables and frames for my mosaic piece. Working in his small blacksmith shop has turned into a real love of his. He has made some wonderful tables to mosaic, as well as metal frames of all sizes and shapes, plus sturdy iron lazy susan frames - all of them specifically for the mosaic tile artist. I no longer carry his tables in my shop, but you can find them in his Etsy shop - tableman.
