Sarah Robinson's Profile

About

Sarah Robinson
I was born in England and studied at Brighton Art College, Sussex , England, specialising in textile design. But then I got side tracked into “homemaking” and all that entails. I moved to West Cork, Ireland in 1980, and started taking my painting seriously, the surrounding scenery inspired many of my pieces at that time. In 2000 I firstly took a two year course in arts and crafts and then undertook a four-year, Dublin Institute of Technology BA course in Fine Art. I continued painting until 2009 but I was changing my style to include mixed media, I found I was missing the textures and layering that I needed to express my feelings. I also at this time started designing and making jewellery mostly with natural ingredients, semiprecious gems chips.... I love the random shapes and colours; glass beads and plated chain and wire, now I am exploring the use of mixed media to incorporate into my pieces. It is, for me, a very exciting time and I will be able to transfer some of this feeling into my work. All my pieces on display are unique – one of a kind - designs, made to a very high standard with quality materials. Please contact me if you would like any more information about the pieces at
