About

Both my grandparents were fiber fans and spent many of their retired hours with crochet hooks or knitting needles in hand. My grandfather was an amazingly talented knitter, and I've always respected him a lot for that, particularly since knitting isn't especially known to be a male hobby.

My grandmother taught me to crochet years ago, when I finally reached a point in adulthood where I could sit still long enough and see a project to its end. It had always been her dream to have "one of her girls" take up her favorite hobby. So crocheting is our bond and inspiration, even now that she is unable to manage such fine motor skills.

Crocheting has become my nesting hobby, inspired by our little girl. Most of my items are made during those special times when she nurses and then falls asleep on my lap. It is a peaceful time for us, and so my items are pre-infused with tenderness and love.

Every time we go to a new town, I always search out the yarn store off the beaten path to find the most unique, beautiful, and delicately made yarns. Over the years I've developed my own patterns and styles, mostly to ensure each item is unique and not something you'd find mass duplicated at a box store.

We are cloth diapering parents and welcome any questions regarding soakers, sizing, and washing concerns. Cloth diapering is much more economical and environmentally friendly than paper disposables, and we like to feel that we're doing our part and helping others to be gentle with the planet.

This is why many of my items are made of natural fibers. Organic cotton, wool, soy, hemp, bamboo, and silk - all are wonderful next to the skin and natural in nature.

Crocheting is indeed a time intensive endeavor, but the end results are amazing. I hope you too will delight in my hand-stitched, uniquely created wearable art!
