About

I created My Fair Label because I wanted to use fashion as a vehicle for the social and economic empowerment of women in my home country Burkina Faso. About

I created My Fair Label because I wanted to use fashion as a vehicle for the social and economic empowerment of women in my home country Burkina Faso. By promoting and supporting their craft through a fair trade business model, I saw the potential to create opportunities that would increase and stabilize their income.

COPROMOF is the women’s sewing cooperative that I collaborate with to create my clothing. We share a mutual goal which goes beyond fashion; this goal is to alleviate poverty by providing jobs to marginalized women in the city while promoting the beauty and versatility of african fabrics of all kinds. Together we research new fabrics that are either artisinally or industrially made in Africa and explore their potential with simple and elegant designs.

As an advocate of the fair trade movement, I am committed to following its basic principles throughout my entire production chain. From the fabric weavers and suppliers, dyers and block printers, to the sewing cooperative, each individual or enterprise is remunerated fairly and according to mutual terms of agreement. We strive together to use sustainable methods of production when possible all the while providing skills training to enhance our producers' knowledge of environmentally friendly methods and broaden their horizon of opportunity.

I hope you enjoy our creations and I guarantee you’ll have a great experience shopping with us!

Thanks and happy shopping!
