I learned to sew growing up but didn't do much in my teens and twenties. I was too busy with school and work, meeting my husband and raising toddlers. As the kids got older (and were able to get their own cheese sticks out of the fridge) I got back into sewing to make things for my two daughters. My son is a strictly jeans and t-shirt guy and being a teenager he really isn't buying into the appliquéd-tie-on-a-t-shirt thing, so he appreciates being left out of most sewing related projects.

Along with making clothing from new material I love upcycling found treasures and remaking them into clothes that are one of a kind. Re-sewing and remaking clothing is always an adventure! I love analyzing clothes and fabric and seeing the possibilities for something totally new.

At Cherry City Girls I create fun skirts, dresses, and hair clips for girls and dolls. At Cherry City Kids I use my own vintage inspired designs paired with cotton, linen and wool to make classic clothes for children.
