About

Born and raised in Pasadena, by the mountains in Southern California, I have been a selling artist since my childhood - handmade jewelry, sculpture, paintings, cards and altered books. I taught fine art to children and adults for 15 years, figure drawing to adults and even stop-motion animation to kids and now have some private students; I have also taught beginning jewelry making. I am a published writer (poetry and articles) and I sometimes blog about children and the arts. I love horses and have sold many equine paintings and sculptures. My current creative passion is polymer clay with resin, beads and wire.

Creating fine art of all kinds is a mystical experience for me because I know there is a higher power moving through me, a form of Grace, that IS my creativity. The name, "Mystical Pony Creations" represents the freedom of creativity we are all born with. I believe that life…

I believe that life is mystical and full of Divine Presence. In fact, creating art and jewelry is like meditating!

I love creating and for me, art is joy! I'm inspired by the beautiful colors and music of India (have been there twice) and by the energy, colors and music of gypsies. I prefer using copper wire because the richness of color and the way it changes makes it seem alive. Glass and crystals remind me of fairies and angels.

Since I'm crazy about combining polymer clay with resin, handmade chains, pearls and crystals, it was a natural movement to begin adding resin. I'm always looking for metal flower broaches at yard sales and thrift shops, and sometimes find fun embellishments to incorporate. Re-using makes sense to me. I never lack creativity... I never get stuck trying to figure out what I want to do with my materials. In fact, like many of you, playing with my beads and supplies - trying new colors together, etc. - is one of my favorite things to do.
------------ (done to writing to here... need to answer the questions below...)-----

Is there a funny/touching/sad story behind one/all of your items?
What makes you different from the other people that make what you make? (Or why do I need what you make if no one else makes it?)
What do you enjoy most about making the things you make? How has the experience of handcrafting things for people or selling vintage been rewarding to you?
What are your shop policies? Sizing? Returns? Exchanges? Damage? Shipping? Accepted forms of payment? These things should actually go in your policies page (edit your policy page here), but it never hurts to include the link and point your visitors there should they be looking.
What are questions that come up from your buyers over and over? Do you have a product that is especially difficult to purchase sight unseen? Something people might want to sample before they commit? Try to anticipate the questions your buyers will ask and plug the holes as best you can.
What other special services do you offer to buyers? Custom orders? Gift wrap?
What is the easiest way to get in touch with you? How else can buyers connect with you? Your website? Facebook? Twitter? Do you have a newsletter?

Much Love, Chava
