BIO:

I was born in USSR in 1976 in a small, enclosed Siberian town called
Karasnoyarsk-26 which does not exist anymore.

I am Self-Representing Artist since 1997. I hold Bachelor of Fine Art and Jewelry Design and have years of experience as a bench jeweler.

Here is a journey that I made to build my skills:

SCHOOL AGE: I did not like my regular school much, but I was happy to attend afternoon Art School for kids during 5 years for 4 days per week. There, I was a star with with highest grades! :)

STUDENT AGE in 1993-1997: I received my Bachelor of Fine Art and Jewelry Design from Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Arts in Russia. It took me 4 years. I was the youngest graduated student. :) It was very challenging, but I liked to learn from people around how to design and work with metal and other medias. I was the only female in my jewelry group.

IN RUSSIA: In 1997 I was assigned to a major, highly disciplined state plant
"Krastsvetmet" where I designed and fabricated models for casting
collections, as well as one-of-a-kind pieces with golden nuggets from
Norilsk mines. I made designs rendering, wax carving, fabricating, soldering and finishing.
On first floor bars of gold arrived and transported to other floors like loaves of bread. Once a year we were required to wash our entire work room
(down to the last screw) and then burn all the washcloths we used in order
to preserve any precious metals dust. On the other hand, my education was
free.

NOW in USA: When I turned 23 I emigrated to the United States. I am now the owner,
designer and bench jeweler behind VICTORONA.
I construct my jewels in my home studio using saws, hammers, files, drilling machine, torche, polishing machine, burnishers and many other assorted tools.
I use Eco-friendly citric acid for metal pickling – can you imagine how lemons can help! :) Smells good too!! :)

In 2010 I had opportunity to attend gem setting class in San Francisco Revere Academy. I plan to invest in more tools and classes when I can, to be able to take my jewelry designs to the next level. Site of school: http://www.revereacademy.com/

Every year I am happy to attend workshops of MJSA Expo New York, dedicated to jewelry making and design. The info about event: http://www.mjsa.org/events_and_programs/mjsa_expo_new_york/

For me, a jewelry piece is not only a decorative object, but a timeless
statement and a work of conceptual art.
Science, philosophy, history and literature are some of the elements that
I combine in my work.
Most jewels that I design are available for purchase and are part of open
editions. I also make one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by my memories or any
experience that touches the deepest layers of my inner world.
I make lots of custom orders. I love working with people. I treasure
their stories and am delighted to form in metal the love that people
share with me.

HAVE a JEWEL of JOY!!!

Thank you
