Nahanni Rous' Profile

About

I have been batiking and sewing from an early age, and discovered silk-screening as an adult. I began making chuppahs eight years ago. I also make other ritual items like tallises and prayer flags.

I have studied drawing at the Rhode Island School of Design, surface design for textiles at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC, and Hebrew scribal arts in Jerusalem. Each time I work with a couple to create a unique chuppah that incorporates their images, feelings and aesthetic sense, I learn something new about fabric and design, and I feel privileged to be part of such an important milestone in a couple's life.
